چکیده

Binding energies of negative sX−d and positive trions sX+d in quantum wires are studied for strong quantum confinement of carriers which results in a numerical exactly solvable model. The relative electron and hole confinement have a strong effect on the stability of trions. For equal hole and electron confinement, X+ is more stable but a small imbalance of the particle confinement towards a stronger hole confinement, e.g., due to its larger effective mass, leads to the interchange of X− and X+ recombination lines in the photoluminescent spectrum as was recently observed experimentally. In case of larger X− stability, a magnetic field oriented parallel to the wire axis leads to a stronger increase of the X+ binding energy resulting in a crossing of the X+ and X− lines.

Stability of Charged Exciton States in Quantum Wires

We show that the order of energies of negative (X ) and positive (Xþ) trions in quantum wires is determined by the relative electron and hole lateral confinements. For equal electron and hole confinement, Xþ has a larger binding energy, but a small imbalance towards a stronger hole localization changes the order of the X and Xþ recombination lines in the photoluminescence spectrum.

Conductance in quantum wires by three quantum dots arrays

A noninteracting quantum-dot arrays side coupled to a quantum wire is studied. Transport through the quantum wire is investigated by using a noninteracting Anderson tunneling Hamiltonian. The conductance at zero temperature develops an oscillating band with resonances and antiresonances due to constructive and destructive interference in the ballistic channel, respectively. Moreover, we have fo...

Quantum Squeezed Light Propagation in an Optical Parity-Time (PT)-Symmetric Structure

We investigate the medium effect of a parity-time (PT)-symmetric bilayer on the quantum optical properties of an incident squeezed light at zero temperature (T=0 K). To do so, we use the canonical quantization approach and describe the amplification and dissipation properties of the constituent layers of the bilayer structure by Lorentz model to analyze the quadrature squeezing of the outgoing ...

Effect of Relative Phase on the Stability of Temporal Bright Solitons in a PT- Symmetric NLDC

In this paper we numerically investigate the effect of relative phase on thestability of temporal bright solitons in a Nano PT- Symmetric nonlinear directionalcoupler (NLDC) by considering gain in bar and loss in cross. We also study the effect ofrelative phase on the output perturbed bright solitons energies, in the range of   0 to 180 . By using perturbation theory three eigenfunctions an...
